Our Story
Petriot distillery, home of Petriot gin, traces its roots back to Bela krajina. The founder of the distillery, Jurij Petruna, comes from Bela krajina, he is an it professional by education and at the same time a lover and a connoisseur of gin.
Jurij’s first contact with gin was love at first sight, authentic and deep, one that does not let go easily. Throughout the years Jurij has devoted a lot of time to gin by studying the production process, educating himself and exploring the aromas in search of new botanicals combinations. Already his trial gin series were an unusual combination of tastes that impressed his friends. Thus, his decision to turn his passion into opening of his own Petriot distillery, was a simple one.

EACH SERIES OF PETRIOT GINS IS A HOMAGE TO THE SLOVENIAN LANDSCAPE, HERITAGE AND TRADITION.
We found our inspiration for Petriot gin in the diverse Slovenian landscape. These are the birch trees of Bela krajina, the Prekmurje plains, the sun-kissed Karst land and the smell of hay in the sharp Alpine air. The beautiful berries and botanicals of the Slovenian landscape are interwoven in the authentic taste of our gins.
DISTILLERY
WE ARE A SLOVENIAN MICRO DISTILLERY OF QUALITY GINS. FOR DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION OF OUR GIN WE USE SEVERAL BOILERS OF RENOWNED EUROPEAN MANUFACTURERS.
While the whole production process – from selection of raw materials, weighing, products packaging – is done manually, all steps in the process of distillery are automated. By using automation, we ensure the quality of our products.
DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW TASTE TAKES SEVERAL MONTHS
OUR KEY ORIENTATIONS IN GIN PRODUCTION ARE:
- systematicity, that gives us a chance of analytical approach and therewith accurate control over the quality of the final product,
- natural ecological ingredients, without any kinds of additives or other artificial supplements. The taste of gin is shaped by extracts of completely natural flavourings from ecologically grown fruits and botanicals.
